FRANK M TROCINO, CEO / CFO
Frank was raised in Oregon and graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of Oregon in Eugene. Arriving in Los Angeles in 1985, he began his professional career with the firm of Albert C. Martin and Associates. He started his own company, Studio Avanti, in 1988 and built this into an eighteen person firm with projects internationally. The entrepreneur bug bit him in 2000 when he launched Heartland Resource Technologies to develop green building products for the construction industry.

Dr. JAMES M WESCOTT, VP of Technology
Jim has a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from Virginia Tech. He has worked in the chemical industry for 15 years until he founded HRT along with Frank in 2000. Jim held several positions with McWhorter Technologies including Technical Manager of Operations, Lab Manager, and Technical Service Manager. Jim’s strengths are in both R&D and taking new technologies to commercialization.

MICHAEL BIRKELAND, R & D Manager
Mike received his chemistry degree from the University of Wisconsin. Previous to HRT, he worked in the Biotech industry and has gained a reputation as a protein expert. He currently oversees the day to day operation of the lab as well as serving as a lead technical contact to our customers and partners.
